Linda Griffiths

Linda has been a familiar face and voice within the Welsh folk scene for almost 40 years. She was a member of the popular folk group ‘Plethyn’ for many years. She has more recently been performing as a solo artist, and now sings with her three daughters, Lisa, Gwenno and Mari (Sorela) who provide harmony and backing vocals. She has released 5 collections as a solo artist, including her latest collection ‘Olwyn y Sêr’, that includes songs written by Linda herself. She has worked extensively in radio and television in Wales, as both a singer and presenter. Linda is considered to be one of the main advocates of Welsh traditional unaccompanied folk singing. She has succeeded in moving the tradition forward whilst respecting its essence, and her importance in the revival of Celtic folk singing is widely acknowledged.
