American jazz/blues pianist and composer (ca 1900- died June 8, 1963 in Manhattan, New York, NY). Also known as "Lem", Fowler recorded 57 songs and 23 piano rolls between 1922-1932 and also had several songs released as sheet music. His first piano roll, "He May Be Your Man But He Comes To See Me Sometimes", remains a jazz/blues standard to this day. Fowler used several pseudonyms for his compositions such as James Meller, Ed Richard & Relphow James. A somewhat mysterious figure, no records have been found about his birth/death dates and his whereabouts were unknown between 1932-1962
