In early 1974, he joined the National Youth Jazz Orchestra. He was a successful studio musician when he was invited to join Paul McCartney's band [A=Wings (2)]. After they disbanded in early 1981, he moved to the United States. In New York City, he met his future wife Hope and soon moved to her native California. He subsequently resumed work as a session musician and played guitar on numerous television shows.
