His first professional experience came as a pianist for various Florida-based groups including Joe Henderson and Steve Alaimo before securing a contract with the Dade Records (2) and Dade Records (2) labels of Florida under the name "Benny Latimore." He signed with Dade Records (2) in 1982 and released seven modern Soul albums.
