    Lasse Törnqvist

Swedish cornetist, born 1935 in Bromma outside Stockholm.

He played traditional jazz between 1952- 57 primarily with Midnight Stompers. Had a music hiatus, but took up playing again in 1973 playing in more swing and mainstream influenced 6 - 7 piece groups, like Olle Orrjes Jazz Band and Lasse Törnqvist´s Blue Stars.
Also experimented with smaller bands in order to achieve a more acoustic sound. During the eighties often played with a duo - cornet and piano. During 1992 a trio with guitar, bass and cornet was used at a gig and the Sweet Jazz Trio was formed.
