Kunt And The Gang

Kunt and the Gang are a musical comedy act based in Basildon, Essex, following in the tradition of 80's Basildon-based electronic pop acts Depeche Mode and Yazoo.

Formed in late 2003 by lead singer and keyboardist [a=Kunt (4)] (one of the founder members of Essex rock combo Serious Problem) the group underwent a line-up change even before the band's first gig at the Castlemayne pub in Basildon, with Andy Kunt (aka 'And Job) being replaced by puppet sidekick Little Kunt.

In 2010 a re-worked version of the single 'Use My Arsehole As A Cunt', a satirical commentary on Nick Clegg's participation in government with David Cameron, was released. Despite no airplay or coverage in the mainstream media, an online campaign championed by digital arts community "b3ta" led the single to achieve #66 in the UK Christmas singles chart..

In 2011 'Fucksticks' was reissued as a 7" single in time for the royal wedding of William & Kate.

In 2020 Kunt moved his musical talent into a band format under the name The Kunts. Since then he's re-tooled a number of the Kunt & The Gang songs to a fitting Punk sound, He has also had his biggest success in the charts under the project, a number of songs hitting the top 20, including 'Boris Johnson Is A Fucking Cunt' and 'Fuck The Tories'.

In 2022 Kunt had an amazing run at the Edinburgh Fringe with a stage version of his Shannon Matthews Musical (first released back in 2010 on CD). In September of the same year a kickstarter campaign was set up to have the musical made into a film. The movie made its goal within the week.
