Klaus Kjellerup

Danish songwriter, producer, musician and journalist, born 1954 in Copenhagen, leader of [a521401] with singer [a5393309]. Started out as bass player in jazz-rock fusion band [a1605061] in 1976, then founded the popular pop/reggae band [a426633] with his childhood friend [a=Henrik Stanley Møller] in 1978. He left Tøsedrengene in 1983, and worked solo through the 1980's, then founded Danser med Drenge in 1991 with deceased singer [a4799969]. While Kjellerup never had much success as a solo artist, he has been quite successful as producer and songwriter in bands like [a426633] and [a521401], who have had many albums and songs at the top of the Danish charts through the four decades since 1980. Of note is his work as songwriter for female singers [a5393309], [a1051948] and [a4799969] in Danser med Drenge, for whom he wrote the hit songs [r=13006533], [r=14837614] and [r=14267876] - and for [a562336] in Tøsedrengene for whom he wrote [r=2869672] and 'Ud Under Åben Himmel'. He has also co-written many songs with Anne Dorte Michelsen for her solo albums and wrote the music for her top songs [r=1424829] and [r=6469505].
