Japanese punk band formed in 1984 in Tokyo when singer Kenzi Hatta who previously sang in Sapporo-based punk bands スマ・ロ子 (Sma-Loco aka Smile Locomotion) and イギリス (Igirisu) from 1980 to 1983. The band was originally called just 'Kenzi' in their early years, then changed it to Kenzi & The Trips in 1987. Kenzi played their first show at Loft in Tokyo on Sep 15, 1984, with The Willard, Masturbation, The Genbaku Onanies, The Continental Kids, Sperma, Oxz, Rose Jets, etc. They broke up in 1988, got back together in 1994.
