    Kent Sparling

    Composer and producer born in San Francisco in 1966. Sparling was the singer and co-songwriter in the bands Riis Spargo and Eyeland, active in the 1980's and early 1990's the Bay Area indie pop scene. He has composed and released experimental electro-acoustic music since 1985, and has worked as a Sound Designer and Re-recording mixer at George Lucas' Skywalker Sound since 1997, with credits on nearly 200 films. In the early 1990's Sparling worked at Sound Transform Systems in Oakland, CA, hand-building Serge Modular analogue synthesizers for Richie Hawtin and Cevin Key amongst many others. He continues to release new music on his Susurrus and Purling labels, as well as producing and releasing other artists, scoring films and performing live.
