American rock band from Tumwater, Washington, which was influenced by the likes of Melvins and Black Sabbath.
They formed in 1990 and released albums on Calvin Johnson's label [l=K].
Karp broke up in 1998 with members moving on to other bands, including [a=The Whip (2)] and Big Business.
Drummer Scott Jernigan died in a bizarre boating accident in 2003.
