    Kamel Messaoudi

Kamel Messaoudi (كمال مسعودي) is an algerian chaâbi singer born in Bouzaréah, Algeria on January 30, 1961. He comes from a Kabyle family (village of Aït Bouali, located in Freha, wilaya of Tizi-Ouzou). At the beginning of the 1990s, while Algerian chaâbi was struggling to renew itself and attract young people, Kamel Messaoudi, from a modest family, enjoyed great success with a first album , released in particular, by Chemaa (the candle). His style will then be described as “Neo-Chaâbi”. He died on December 10, 1998 in a car accident in Algiers, at the age of 37.
