Kailash Kher, born July 1973 in Merath, is an Indian singer, songwriter and music composer and leader of the band, Kailasa. Both his and Kailasa's style are heavily influenced by Indian folk and Sufi music. He is a prominent singer in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bhojpuri, Bengali, Odia and Urdu languages. He is considered one of the most versatile and successful contemporary playback singers of the last 10 years in Indian cinema, and has won multiple Filmfare awards for 'Best Male Playback Singer'.
