Mid-80s band from Washington, USA, led by Julia McGirt. Lineup from September 22, 1981: Julia McGirt (vocals), David Ylvisaker (piano), Stan Sargeant (bass) and Steve Williams (drums). The group performed at Washington-area nightclubs such as Blues Alley in Georgetown and Mr. Henry’s on Capitol Hill. At the 2009 Wammies, McGirt (then active as Julia Nixon) won the Urban Contemporary Vocalist Award and her ensemble, Julia & Company, won the Urban Contemporary Duo/Group Award.
