    Joseph Pehrson (14 Aug 1950 — 4 Apr 2020) was an American composer and pianist from Detroit, Michigan. Since 1983, he served as co-director of the [url=https://www.discogs.com/label/549684]Composers Concordance[/url] in New York City. Pehrson studied at The University Of Michigan and received his D.M.A. from The University Of Michigan in 1981. He learned composition from Leslie Bassett, Joseph Schwantner, Otto Luening and Elie Siegmeister. Joseph Pehrson was a composer-in-residence at the The University Of Michigan from 1992 to 93. He used pitch structures based on Erv Wilson's "hexanies" in some compositions. In recent years, Pehrson collaborated with Ensemble Sortisatio from Germany.
