Jonny Benavidez was born in El Paso, TX and grew up in San Diego, CA. At the age of thirteen his grandparents gifted him a record player, along with a box of 45s. It was then that his life forever changed. Shortly after that, his grandfather John Lorenzo Guzman (background vocalist for Sonny Powell & The Night-Dreamers), encouraged Jonny to take on singing. From Doo Wop, R&B, Funk, and Soul music, Jonny has had the experience in performing with several groups/bands over the years in California, Texas, and now New York. He is currently living in Manhattan and has been working with various Doo Wop and Soul groups. Be on the look out for more of his solo work coming out very soon!
