Born in Philadelphia, raised in Newark New Jersey, USA. Singer, Remixer and R&B or Deep House producer. Started playing trumpet in Grammar School, then played in Newark Arts High School Jazz Band and Barringer High School Jazz Band. He was a Drum Major in the Blue Bear Marching Band. Johnny began his career in Newark as a resident DJ at the Carlton Hotel's "Club America" from 1988-1990, alongside DJs such as [a=Naeem Johnson], [a=David Camacho], [a=Kerri Chandler] or [a=Carlton Rosebure] & other. His most memorable compositions were released on [a=Nu Groove Records] as [a=Foremost Poets], [l=BPM King Street Sounds], [l=Nite Grooves] & [l=Junior London] among other labels.
