Johnny Burt

UK-born Canadian arranger, composer, pianist and bandleader. Emigrated to Canada as an infant where he started his career as a pianist and composer in the 1930s. Traveled to England in 1938 with [a=Trump Davidson]'s orchestra, returning to Toronto in 1939. Arranger for [a=Paul Whiteman] from 1941 to 1942. From the mid-1940s through the 1950s was an arranger and performer on [l=CBC]. Music director for [l=Canadian Talent Library] from 1962 to 1972. Born March 31, 1914 in London, England. Died September 21, 1980 in Toronto, Ontario.
