John McKay

English guitarist & occasional saxophone player, born in 1957.

Member of Siouxsie & The Banshees from July 1977 until September 1979 after replacing Peter Fenton. He left the Band famously together with then drummer Kenny Morris a few hours before an concert of the 'Join Hands' Tour after an heavy disagreement about signing records at a local store in Aberdeen. His self-taught guitar style was praised as innovative and inspiration alike by his contemporaries and later musicians.
In 1982 he formed the trio Zor Gabor with his longtime girlfriend and Dids, playing the Batcave and supporting The Fall occasionally. Only one single, recorded in 1986 was released before the project fizzled out while sporadically playing gigs until the late 80's.
