Rhythm & blues singer, born 7 April 1919 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, died 29 July 2007. Nelson first recorded for the Olliet label in Oakland, California, in 1948, and had a sizeable hit with "T-99” blues" for RPM in 1951. Moving from the West Coast to Houston, Texas, in 1955 he continued to record occasionally, but worked mostly outside of music. In the 1980s and 1990s he played at festival in the US and Europe, and also made some new recordings.
