Jennifer is an EGOT-winning American actress and singer. Her career began as a finalist on the third season of FOX television series American Idol. She played Effie White alongside Beyoncé and Jamie Foxx in the film adaptation of the Broadway musical Dreamgirls. Prior to American Idol, Hudson had worked as a singer and actor aboard cruise ships, but never had any formal musical training.
