    Rhythm 'n' blues, soul and disco singer from Chicago, Illinois.

    She was born September 19, 1950 in Chicago, the oldest of six children, Jean was a member of a young trio that sang in churches throughout the chicago area. When she was just 12 years old, she signed to Chess and the label had their act Tim & Jean record her song "Spring Fever," which turned into a local hit. Once she left high school in 1970, she signed to Brunswick Records. She regularly played with Chaka Khan and toured Europe together with Al Green, Gene Chandler, The Stylistics and Jackie Wilson. Together with her husband Edward Walker she moved to Los Angeles and after 1978 to Frankfurt, Germany. Her biggest hit was "Night Dancer", released in 1979.
