Gladys McFadden and the Loving Sisters were an African-American gospel group based in Little Rock, Pulaski county, Arkansas. As well as McFadden, the core members of the group were her three sisters Josephine Dumas, Anna James and Loraine Leeks. A fifth sister, Leona, was a member until her death in 1951. Barbara Hyder was the group’s pianist and a backing vocalist member, she made her live Television appearance with the Loving Sisters on Sid Ordower’s Jubilee Showcase in the 1960s. Bobbie Lewis also provided backing vocals on some recordings and appeared with the group during live concerts. Mary Moore, also served as a member of the group serving when needed as a backing vocalist and was also the groups costume designer.
Later in their career, they were accompanied by Love Act which consisted of three of their sons.
In 1979, their version of Amazing Grace was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Soul Gospel Performance - Traditional category. They were inducted into the Arkansas Black Hall Of Fame in 2003.
