Born in Saint-Quentin, France, Jacquy Boulant became a cult figure in the French electro-batcave scene. After his batcave group "Neva" disbanded in 1989, he launched a successful solo career in 1991. However, before his solo fame, Jacquy (credited as "Jacquiy") lent his vocals to two other bands that never officially released any music. He sang for the coldwave band "Outside Night" during their two-concert stint in Saint-Quentin in 1979. He also contributed vocals to a second iteration of the band "Sniff" (also known as "Sniff II") for their one concert in Saint-Quentin. This second Sniff was active from 1981 to 1982.
