Jacques Loussier Trio

About

French jazz trio formed in 1959 by pianist Jacques Loussier, with Christian Garros on drums and Pierre Michelot on bass. They performed jazz interpretations of J.S. Bach's work. Sometimes credited as 'Play Bach Trio', the original trio broke up in 1978.

In 1985, Loussier formed a new Jacques Loussier Trio with new members. The bassist Benoît Dunoyer de Segonzac has also performed in the trio, replacing Vincent Charbonnier on a number of albums and concerts from at least as early as 1998.
