Ida Sand studied at the Gothenburg Academy of Music. She made her recording debut as a guest artist on Nils Landgren's Christmas with My Friends in 2006, and the following year she released her first solo album, Meet Me Around Midnight.

In the 2006/07 season of the TV show "På spåret", she was in the house band, on keyboards.

Ida Sand is married to guitarist [a538728], and her father is the opera singer Staffan Sandlund.
