She was nurtured by her parents, religious music, church choir, and learned guitar at age 12. She dabbled in Celtic music before moving to experimental folk music. Her eclectic background and love of reading has made her songwriting rich and won the Kerrville New Folk award in 2021. She typically tours with a trio including usually the uber talented Pat Keen.
