American blues drummer and singer, active in Memphis in the early 1950s.

Stokes had a session as a singer on 18 November 1952 (not released at the time), and also backed other blues artists, such as James Cotton, Billy Gayles, Raymond Hill, Tiny Kennedy, Billy Red Love, and Rufus Thomas, often recording in the Sun Studios.
