American singer-songwriter, born 24 June 1966 in Los Angeles, California, USA.
Hope's first band was called Going Home, a folk band she formed with her friend Sylvia Gomez who played the guitar. David Roback recorded some songs with Going Home. Only 7 songs are known from this collaboration but to date have never been released. In 1988 Hope replaced Kendra Smith in the band [a=Opal (2)] which was created and headed by guitarist David Roback. In 1990, Opal transformed into Mazzy Star until the passing of David Roback in 2020. Hope has a band of her own called Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions. She has also collaborated with other artists like The Jesus And Mary Chain, The Chemical Brothers, [a=Death in Vegas], Massive Attack, Bert Jansch and many more.
