She performed mostly on old-time radio and on the stage. She played "Vivian" on the "The Hour of Charm" program.
She graduated from Pomona College, then began her professional carer in 1936 after placing first in a musical competition on “The California Hour,” a popular radio amateur program on the West Coast. That led to a CBS contract and a move to New York City. She also made frequent appearances at the Radio City Music Hall and with symphony orchestras around the country.
