Hodges, James & Smith was an American soulful female trio and a brainchild of Motown producer William Stevenson. They were intended to rival The Supremes, but never quite achieved that.
They were previously called Hodges, James, Smith & Crawford, but Caroline Crawford left the group making it trio.
