US indie hip-hop collective based in Oakland, California consisting of Del Tha Funkee Homosapien, Casual, Pep Love, Domino, DJ Toure, and all four members of the group Souls of Mischief. Del, A-Plus, Tajai and Opio lived close by in the neighborhood over the hill from Touré’s home (Toure who attended elementary school with Casual) and Del officially started the Hieroglyphics crew in the late 1980s.
