"You'll Never Know" was the most successful song by Hi-Gloss. The song was written and arranged by Phil Hurtt and Giuliano Salerni, who assembled a team of session musicians to produce some successful tracks. "You'll Never Know" was sung by the sumptuous solo voice of Bonita Taylor, with the future star Luther Vandross among the backup vocals. The song became very popular among club DJs and in the soul-friendly sections of the music press. "You'll Never Know" stayed in the Top 20 for four consecutive weeks and reached position #12.
In the fall of 1981, the album "Hi-Gloss" was released, which included as well as the less successful single "I'm Totally Yours".
