    Herman Gimbel (Oct 23, 1913 - Sept 1978) was an American record distributor, label executive, and later owner of Audiofidelity Enterprises, Inc. home to Audiofidelity Enterprises, Inc. Records.


    Herman entered into the music business, via way of record distribution, in 1949 courtesy of his friend, Harold Drayson.
    Harold was employed with Audiofidelity Enterprises, Inc., and convinced Herman to become the Baltimore, MD distributor for Audiofidelity Enterprises, Inc.. Herman soon took on Richmond, Cleveland and Pittsburgh, as well.
    He grew his distribution company to the point that he began handling other labels, including Audiofidelity Enterprises, Inc..

    Herman eventually closed his record distributorship, and began working with various record labels and companies, in a host of executive-related duties.
    He bought Audiofidelity Enterprises, Inc. (which included Audiofidelity Enterprises, Inc.) in April 1964.

    He died September 1978 (age 64) .
