She began playing professionally in local motion picture houses when she was eleven years old, and was soon playing on regular theatrical circuits. She met her husband, also a theatrical musician, when both were playing in Chicago in 1923. They were married within a year.
In 1926, the Crawfords began a seven-year engagement at the Paramaount Theater in New York City, where they played the twin organs on each side of the motion-picture houses's screen. She was the author of a number of instrumental songs.
