As the key members of early '90s West Coast gangsta rap group South Central Cartel (SCC), the Havoc & Prodeje duo became its own identity due to unfulfilled obligations with Quality Records. After Quality released SCC's first LP South Central Madness, the label filed bankruptcy while SCC was signed for a 4 album deal. With Def Jam now showing great interest, the label struck a deal with Prodeje, allowing him to take the name to Def Jam but keeping the duo Havoc & Prodeje at Quality. Beginning with 1993's Livin' in a Crime Wave, followed with Kickin' Game in early 1995, finishing with Truez Neva Stop in 1997. Unfortunately, the duo's career never rivaled South Central Cartel's.
