Harry Breuer

Harry Breuer was an American mallet player, percussionist, and composer. Born : October 24, 1901 in Brooklyn, New York. Died : June 27, 1989 in New York City, New York. He performed as soloist using an instrument of his own design - a combination of marimba, vibraphone and xylophone. He performed with the [a=Radio City Music Hall Orchestra], worked for the [b]Warner Brothers[/b] and [b]Fox[/b] movie studios in the 1930/40s, and appeared in several short subjects and educational films during this time. He later was a staff musician with NBC, where he remained until his retirement in the late 1970s. Inducted into the [b]Percussive Arts Society Hall of Fame[/b] in 1980, Breuer continued performing until his final years, in 1986 even releasing a new LP, Mallets in Wonderland.
