    Hansson & Karlsson

Swedish late instrumental jazzrock / psychedelia duo formed 1967 and disbanded in 1969.

The group's music was very much based on improvisations, which is why their live shows also became very different and varied from time to time. They became acquainted with Jimi Hendrix and played with him a few times, including at the club Filips in Stockholm. Hendrix was interested in the duo's music and recorded Hansson & Karlsson's composition "Tax Free".
The reason why the duo spells their name Hansson & Karlsson, despite Janne Carlsson spelling his last name with C, is that a poster painter misunderstood the duo's name and wrote Karlsson with K. Bosse and Janne thought it looked good, so they kept that spelling.
