(26 July 1942 – 21 April 2019) was a German actress with a long career on stage, on television and in film. She first worked on stages in Munich. She starred in popular films and television series such as Die Schwarzwaldklinik. She is remembered for her role as the lead character, Inspector Lea Sommer, in the series Die Kommissarin. Elsner was awarded honours for her acting and for social engagement.
