Guillaume Apollinaire (August 26, 1880, Roma, Italy - November 9, 1918, Paris, France) was a French poet, novelist, literary and art critic. Apollinaire was a vivid advocate of avant-garde movements of the early 20th century, including cubism, and is also considered as the inventor of the word "surréalisme" (surrealism).
