    Grupo Niche is a salsa group founded in 1978 in Bogotá, Colombia, by Jairo Varela and Alexis Lozano. Varela remained with the group until his death in 2012, becoming producer, director, songwriter, vocalist and guiro player. Alexis Lozano, trombone player and arranger later left to form Guayacán Orquesta. Other musicians in the band have been: Nicolas Cristancho, piano; Francisco Garcia, bass; Luis Pacheco, congas; and singers Jorge Bassam and Hector Viveros.


    In 1986 they included Tito Gómez as singer on their album "Me Huele A Matrimonio".
