American singer, songwriter, and record producer.
He worked at WPTS as a radio announcer and disc jockey in his youth.
His Elvis Presley-like voice got him a job recording demos of songs submitted to Presley.
He signed with [l=Sunbeam Records (3)] and had minor success in mid-1958 with the novelty hit "No Chemise Please". He went on to greater success, however, as Dicky Doo of Dicky Doo & The Don'ts with the backing and support of Dick Clark on the [l=Swan] label, a move that was necessitated by his contractural ties to his former label, Sunbeam.
Later in his career, Granahan served as vice president of Dot Records and Paramount Records.
