Started with various pirate radio stations and sound systems in north west London in the 1980s including Vigilante, Third Dimension and Tippertone.
His first record, New Cockatoo, was released on Robbo Ranx's Musik Street label in 1988.
After success in the ragga/dancehall scene, he was approached by Junior Hart and his son Marlon Hart aka M-Beat to freestyle over their jungle release, Style. This vocal version, Incredible, remains his best known track.
He developed his trademark high-pitched "hiccup" style in his teens, initially by mistake, while making tapes with school friends.
