Gene Redd Jr.

Gene Redd Jr. is a US former doo-wop singer-songwriter-producer-pianist active in New York, NY, who eventually became the manager/producer for Kool & The Gang. He also produced the group [a=BMP]. Brother of Sharon Redd and son of Gene Redd. Joined the Fi-Tones in 1954 after being a member of [a=The Five Chimes]. Often associated with the publisher [l=Staccato Music] and [l=Stephanye Music] named after his daughter. Owner of the labels [l=Stephanye Records], [l=Red Coach Records] and [l=Redd]. Worked with Cecil Holmes & Ronald Moseley (R. M. H. Productions). Became A&R producer for [l=Musicor Records] in 1966.
