    Gary Higgins

American folk singer songwriter born in Sharon, Connecticut. In 1972 Gary Higgins, along with several band members, recorded the album “Red Hash”, songs written by Gary. Sleeping for almost three decades, the vinyl album landed in Russia, where it was unlawfully turned into a cd. This pirated version slowly started making it's way back to America where fans, both new and old, embraced this cult classic psychedelic rock album. Hearing this, Zack Cowie and Ben Chasny “Six Organs of Admittance” along with Chicago based Drag City Records located Gary for an official 2005 re-release using mixes off the original album. Gary, added two newer songs to the reissue and the new cd, complete with the original lp album artwork, rolled out propelling the band into the national and international limelight. In 2008 Gary laid down more new tracks and the band recorded another album called “Seconds” on the same label.
