Fritz Mayr was a Bavarian folk musician and composer, mostly known as a Jew's harp (Maultrommel) player. He was also head of the Folk Music Department (Volksmusik-Abteilung) at Bayerischer Rundfunk (Bavarian Radio) for 28 years. He was born in Au bei Aibling on 1 March 1940, and died 5 December 2020.
