    American soul and funk singer/songwriter and producer, born in Arkansas but moved to Compton, California. Not to be confused with soul singer Freddie Hughes. Recorded for Vee Jay Records, Vee Jay Records and other labels in the 1960s. He still resides in Compton but has not been active in music since the 1970s.
