François Pérusse

François Pérusse is a Canadian comedian born on October 8th 1960 in Sainte-Foy, Quebec. He first gained popularity in 1990, appearing on the radio show "Yé Trop De Bonne Heure" on CKOI-FM, which was at the time hosted by celebrity Normand Brathwaite. François's segment was titled "Les Deux Minutes Du Peuple", a two minute comedy skit featuring sped-up voices (all done by himself). "Les Deux Minutes Du Peuple" remained on the air for nearly two decades, originally only in Quebec but it was eventually picked up in France, Belgium, Switzerland and other French-speaking countries, each presenting a specially-recorded version adapted to the different cultures and topics of the time. In the early 2000's, he moved to television with the shows "La Série Du Peuple" and "Le Journul", and in the 2010's, "Pérusse Cité".

François Pérusse is mostly known for performing midi-based keyboards and vocals on his solo albums but he is also a talented bass player who has appeared on several albums by other artists and bands. In 1993, he co-founded his own record label, Zero Musique, with business partners Luc De Larochellière, Pierre Dumont and his brother, producer Marc Pérusse. The record label also has a publishing imprint, Zero Musique, as well as its own music and film production companies: Zero Musique and Zero Musique. In the early 2000's, he built a private home studio in Saint-Basile-le-Grand, Quebec, which he initially named Zero Musique. In the mid-2000's, he renamed the studio to Zero Musique, which he still operates to this day.
