Frank Penn

(born 19 August 1941, Nassau, Bahamas; died 2 November 2009, Freeport, Bahamas) Entertainer and composer from the Bahamas, founder of [l=Penn Records], [l=G.B.I. Recording Co. Ltd.] and [l=Penn's]. Awards in the Bahamas: • His compositions "I Am Who I Am" [1974] and "The Beauty Queen" [1975] were voted best songs at the annual MMOYA presentations held at Freeport. • Voted "Entertainer of the Year" in 1977. • Awarded the national Tourism Award in 1981 for his composition of "Where Ya Gonna Go Next Year".
