Folkländer

The leading group of the East German folk scene. Founded in 1976, the band provided many impulses for the emerging East German folk movement. In 1982 the band was renamed to [a=Folkländers Bierfiedler] and disbanded after a few line-up changes in 1991. In the fall of 1994, the band had a reunion under the name [a=Bierfiedler]. Since 2019, some of the original members have been playing under the name Folkländer again.
