Formed in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1996. After early incarnations of the band with drummers Eric Puestow (who died in a car accident) and Peter Enriquez (who went to college), Michael Glass joined Michael Triplett and Eddie Sanchez in 1997. In 2004, Triplett was diagnosed with spinal meningitis. He spent several months in the hospital, and several more recuperating in Florida. Triplett returned to North Carolina in 2005 to complete the Native Tongue EP, out on Japan’s Stiff Slack records, introducing Cynthia Main on cello as a new band member.
